I did a doodle today because I was almost blown away. The wind seems to have been sweeping across the country and with it the very treacherous hazard of.... Long hair! The sun was out, so sunglasses on, but then the wind whipped our faces with our own hair. Invigorating? Yes. Flattering? Not so much!
Ooooo and I also put together the final colour palette for my new book. A world of colours to calm and entice (I hope).
This blog follows my personal challenge to do a doodle everyday for 2015 to show something from my day - an occurrence, a thought, a meeting, some work, news, something that caught my eye, a conversation I had or overheard... in summary, this is my Doodle Diary 2015. And if you fancy, why not share your day with a doodle too.

I did a doodle today... Well actually I did two doodles:
The first was a result of a long, gorgeous and very muddy dog walk this morning. The sun may have been shining, but the fields were a slippy squelchy challenge... Not that our muddy puppies cared! The fun is always the cleaning up when you get home...
The second was a 2 minute doodle as part of playing 'schools' with my daughter. Apparently everyone in the class (there was just myself and her in the room!) wanted to know about the different seasons. No probs! One piece of paper and some thick felt-tips later and I rustled up some trees... I hope the picture is self explanatory! It certainly seemed to be well received by the 'class'.

I did a doodle today because I have sent myself back to school! Creative block is a mind thing for me, so I need to step away and go back to basics for a bit. I'd forgotten how rusty I am but hey ho ploughing on... Here's my 15 minutes today.

I did a doodle today because I have illustrators block! After a flurry of furry critters adorning my monitor, I hit a horseshoe type brick wall that I am struggling to get past. So I've stopped trying! I turned everything off and picked up one of my books on children's illustration and set myself a test - open five random pages and copy(ish) one of the illustrations on each page... Quick and without too much thinking. The idea is to unburden me of the style I am stuck on and take a look from a different angle (or should that be page?!). Mmmmmmm here are the results of 15 minutes of doodles...

I did a doodle today because I bought some books, lots and lots of books. Towards the end of last year I started compiling a list of books that excited me, after I read reviews from some of my favourite book bloggers and with great excitement I hit the 'buy now' button on my very full online basket. So I thought I'd give you a taster of the books I bought by using one significant 'descriptive' to illustrate the book spine... These are just a handful of the big, big order winging its way to me through cyberspace as I type...

I did a doodle today, well quite a few really as part of my latest book. It's a wonderful thing taking a thought, a little idea and then slowly translating it into a real and colourful character with their own personality. Below are two little fellas that won't be appearing in the book... But they were very helpful little puppies as they led me to the perfect little pup.

I did a doodle today after discussions about what two of my nieces (8 and 6) and my daughter (4) announced what they wanted to be when they grow up... a Movie Star, a Gymnast and a Dinosaur Hunter!
Way more exciting than my young dreams... I wanted to run a livery stables!
