25th April 2015

I did a doodle today as we are having a little holiday beside the sea.

Happily swapping normality for a childhood escape to sandcastles, ice creams and caravans! No glitz, no glamour, just pure non-electronic, non-app, non-big-chain fun. A caravan, a beach and the great outdoors of northern Wales.

Of course, I am doing this entirely for my little one to enjoy wholesome, back to nature, back to basic fun. But really, there is still that inner child in me that can't wait to build a sandcastle and dip my toes in the (cold) sea.

Bring it on.

24th April 2015

I did a doodle today, hip hip hooray, it's Colour Collective day.

Alizarin crimson. What? Indeed, I did a double take at that one. Always good to discover new colours and names. As I am about to head away, I have had to do a bit of a rush job this week (sorry), but I wanted to make sure I did one as I may not be able to participate in Colour Collective next week.

So here is my quick little sketch doodle #Colour_Collective.

23rd April 2015

I did a doodle today after taking my old boy (the dog) to his 'holiday home', whilst we get ready to head off to North Wales without him. I have to say, he would love our little break away, but the accommodation came with a very large 'no dogs' caveat.

He should be fine, I mean what can go wrong when your holiday room is between a large German Shepherd and an angry looking pair of chihuahuas?!?! Ideal holiday companions, surely...

Sorry boy.

22nd April 2015

I did a doodle today of a little lady wot lunches. My little lady of course, and I was lucky enough to be the one wot lunched with her. Sometime spontaneity and quality time, mixed with some sunshine and pretty dresses, can make the most magical memories.

Unplanned, unhurried and unforgettable days.

21st April 2015

I did a doodle today because I found a brick wall.

I did, I found a brick wall. I had totally forgotten I'd started (quite a while back) an illustration graphic for a house that was to adorn one of my books. The only problem was that I just couldn't get it to look like the house in my head, the house I wanted for my book. You know what I mean, you read something and conjure up very exact pictures of what the characters and their surroundings look like. Well this house was there in my head, the perfect house for my little book, but I just could not recreate it on screen. But what I did do was build some fab multi-coloured brick walls!

So I borrowed a few plain bricks and used them for a quick little doodle today.

I'm sure nothing will fall down...

20th April 2015

I did a doodle today to say hip hip hooray, it's Ickle Monday.

And with the brain fully engaged in creative matter and ideas running about all over the place, it is time to put pen to paper and turn these creative wisps in to something. This is going to be a fun week.

So here's pen to paper, oh and felt tip and paint brush and fountain pen...

Happy Ickle Monday everyone.

19th April 2015

I did a doodle today where I (sort of) transformed the last of my daughter's first Adobe Illustrator pictures (check out picture one > and picture two > transformations).

This one was by far the most expressive of my daughter's pictures, with a lot of bold use of colour! So, I didn't transform her actual picture, I expanded it into a bigger picture.

My expansion of her picture:

I'd quickly like to state for the record that my daughter has never actually done this, but I always had a fear she might....)
